Last night I finally filmed something after a nearly three-day downtime. I filmed the scene where Anti-Smoker Society is putting That Darn Smoker on a stretcher and into the back of their police car. It was extremely difficult to animate, since the minifigs didn't line up right with the studs when standing normally and holding the stretcher at the same time. So that was kind of hard, but I did it along with them closing the police car door and walking off. I thought the walk cycles were really low-quality, so I am considering cutting out the last 1.5 seconds of footage and replacing it with another shot from inside the police car as the door is closing. This would then leave a black screen in which I could transition over into the main titles.
I finally got my dad to record the voices for his part yesterday, so I will probably be building the overhead helicopter set today. It will be similar to the police car one in terms of size, but overall I think it should be easier to animate since I'm only planning on having one camera angle and there's only one person in the helicopter. So that's what I'm going to do today, and after that I will generally be done with the filming for the entire first scene, which is a pretty big accomplishment and probably the hardest scene to film out of all twenty (except maybe the scene where That Darn Smoker is running up the stairs of a fiery building, but I'll get to that later).
