DAY 33: Opening pan for jail scene filmed

I'm getting back to filming, and I've finished the opening camera pan for the smoker jail scene, which includes Lord_Of_The_LEGO's first appearance as the Jail Guard. I'm quite satisfied with it, and I'd been working on that specific set for a couple weeks getting the camera pan track made so that I could slide the camera mount along. I had to tediously move the camera 1/16 of an inch per frame to get the right speed. I also had to set up three different lights to get the right effect without getting too much graininess. I also just discovered the brightness and contrast settings on the Logitech Camera Control. Duh! And the stupid thing is that it's been there the whole time. Oh well; at least I'll know from now on. But it could definitely help with the graininess where I've been having to use the shutter and gain settings alone. Anyway, tomorrow I'll probably set up the next shot and film it where That Darn Smoker is waking up from being shot by the Anti-Smoker Society.

Of course, at this point I am extremely behind schedule, so my new goal is to have this scene and the next one done by the time I go to Durango on July 15. I'll have to take a two-week break after that, but then maybe I can get a few more scenes after that filmed in August, since I don't have to go back to school until August 27 this year (two weeks later than usual). That should leave me with about a third of the film left to do once school starts which will still be okay.
