DAY 42: Haste makes waste?

I wouldn't really call it haste, but I got a lot done tonight. I got two different shots done and added some temporary filler sound effects to get the feel of how the explosion of the smoker jail is going to be like. Last night was out because I had to record my weekly hurricane podcast that I host. I got two shots done as I mentioned, one of That Darn Smoker replying to the jail guard, and the other one a bit later in the scene, right before the smoker jail blows up.

At this rate I'm making good progress, so maybe I can get the whole scene done by later this week. I'm going on vacation to San Antonio Wednesday through Friday, so those three days will be off unless I can do some on the night we get back on Friday. Saturday is my violin lesson, but that shouldn't impede on the filming for that day. I can probably get a few more shots done tomorrow before we leave and then do some more this weekend. I can probably get the set built for the first half of Scene 6 and maybe start doing the first couple of scenes before I head off to Colorado for two weeks. After that it will pretty much be August, and I'll have a week between coming back from Colorado and going off to visit my aunt and uncle in Massachusetts to finish up Scene 6. After that I'll have another week or so before school starts, so I can maybe get the next scene in there. The first couple weeks of school will probably be light on homework, so I might still be able to film some at nights then. So I'll probably have about half of the filming done by the time school starts. I'll have to see how it plays out to be able to schedule the rest of the time before the deadline in December. I'll probably need at least two months at the end to score the film and do post-production stuff, so that still gives me another two months to finish filming. The bottom line is that I have discarded my original schedule and am just winging it according to what scene is next in the script. Great.
